Farber - B. Marie (Wike), 92, formerly of Butler Street, Ebensburg, died April 27, 2007 at Laurel Crest Manor. Born November 7, 1914 in Huntingdon, daughter of the late Lee and Elmira (Mark) Wike. Preceded in death by husband Wayne Farber, whom she married in 1943. Survived by several cousins, close friends, and her extended church family. A member of the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and secretary of the Presbyterian Women's Association for 19 years. A graduate of Huntingdon High School, she had worked for the former Penn Central Electric Company until her marriage in 1943. She moved to Ebensburg following World War II where she was employed for 27 years as a secretary in the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare office. A member of the Johnstown Chapter #183 Order of Eastern Star and the Northern Cambria Auxillary of the Johnstown Symphony.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Jim Farrer, officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Altoona. An Eastern Star service will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ebensburg Area Ambulance Service or the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
