CALIENDO - Joseph P., 82, Nanty Glo, died May 3, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 16, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late John M. and Grace (Gualano) Caliendo. Survived by wife, the former Aldonia Golas, Nanty Glo; and son, John M. (Jean) Caliendo, Holland; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann (Shawn) Zarkasky, Kristin Michelle (Ryan) McConnell and Scott Michael; great-grandchild, Caden Patrick McConnell; sister, Marie Simons, New Hope, and Jean Figurito, Bohemia, N.Y.; also many nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo, and Nanty Glo Car Club. Retired from New York City Highway Department. Navy veteran of World War II. An avid fisherman until he lost his best buddy, Fitch. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where a liturgical wake service will be held Friday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. David Peles. Interment, Holy Name Mausoleum. Veteran service will be conducted by the local veterans organizations.
