Obituary of Leona M. Sowers

SOWERS - Leona M. (Folmar), 77, of Ebensburg, died June 22, 2007 at The Village at Morrison's Cove, Martinsburg. Born June 17, 1930 in Elm Grove, West Virginia, daughter of the late W. Melvin and Helen B. (Danahey) Folmar. Preceded in death by husband Robert E. Sowers, and brother Henry M. Survived by children, Thomas A. (Gina) Sowers; Rebecca S. (Robert) Bracken, Ebensburg; Kristine A. (Barry) Segear, Cresson; and David E. (Tava) Sowers, Rochester Hills, Michigan. Grandchildren, Aric & Magdalene Bracken, Caitlin Sowers, Sarah Segear and Brady Sowers. Member of the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the choir, bell choir and the Women's Association. Past president of the Ebensburg Women's Club, Cambria Cadets Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps. and Johnstown Symphony Northern Cambria Auxillary. Member of Ebensburg Betterment Council. A graduate of West Virginia University. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral service at 10am Tuesday at the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be held at 4pm Tuesday at Stone Church Cemetery, Elm Grove, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leona's memory may be made to her church or Ebensburg Area Ambulance Assoc.
