Bumford - Alvin Lloyd "Pappy" "Pap", 74 of Second Street, Colver, passed away June 24, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 28, 1933 in South Fork, son of the late Raymond and the Florence (Berghane) Bumford. Preceded in death by brother Lee Bumford. Survived by wife, the former Nancy Hagens, to whom he was married 51 years and children: Dennis, married to the former Donna Whalen, of Abingdon, Maryland; Darrell, and girlfriend Cheryl Speacht, Ebensburg; David, married to the former Casey Leard, Parkville, Maryland; and Dena wife of Jim Baker of Colver. Loving grandfather to Brent Bumford, Steven (Teresa) O'Conner, Lacy ( Dale) Sweigert, Autumn Carrow, Brandon and Trever Baker; and great-granddaughter Arianna Sweigert. Brother of Miriam Walls, Spring Grove; and Fred Bumford of Ebensburg. Member of the Colver Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, tending to his lawn, and loved to square dance. He was employed as an inspector at the Penn Machine Company. A Korean War veteran, he had served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m., Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg where funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, the Rev. Tom Jones and Mr. Jim Tomb, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lloyd's memory may be made to the Colver Presbyterian Church or Colver Vol. Fire Company.
