Haupt - Helen (Carlson), 82, of Church of the Brethren Home and formerly of Woodland Street, Ebensburg, died July 3, 2007 at the home. Born November 27, 1924 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude M.(Johnson) Carlson. Preceded in death by husband, William "Bill" Haupt, Jr., and sister Judy Howard. Survived by daughters: Christine, wife of Lester J. Miller; and Nancy, wife of Frank Huttel, all of York; grandchildren: Laronda, Renee, Thomas, Sarah and Jacob; and great grandchildren: Dustin, Jordan and Alyssa. Sister of Adele McCreary and Vera Kinskey, both of Johnstown, and Verna Frontz of Latrobe. Member of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church where she had served as a greeter. Former member of the Ebensburg Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid bowler who enjoyed her Tuesday night bowling league. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, the Rev. Roger Johnson and Rev. Donald Rainey, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Church of the Brethren Home, in Windber.
