TURGEON - Josephine T., 85, of Ebensburg, died Sept. 30, 2007, at the home of her caregiver and loving daughter, Mary Toth. Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Revloc, daughter of Peter and Mary (Surdick) Mugenski. Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, William; son, William; brothers, Frank, Darnell and Joseph; and sisters, Mary Ann Kutchman and Veronica Krull. Survived by daughters, Lillian Benko and Mary Toth, and sister, Anna McDevitt. Josephine was a grandmother of 10, including her other caregiver, Patricia Shaffer. She also had 21 great-grandchildren. A lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ebensburg VFW and a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Ebensburg, where friends and family are asked to attend funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Private inurnment. "Gram" was an avid polka lover who never missed the Saturday and Sunday morning polka shows on the radio, and until the past couple of years never missed a Sunday dance. She was a wonderful, caring, hardworking woman who gave all she could to life and to others. Special thanks to Windber Hospice, including Eileen, Nadine and Diane for all the wonderful care provided and for all that was done to make this last year something very special.
