WARZEL - Roland T., 83, Belsano, died Oct. 11, 2007, at Windber Hospice. Born April 17, 1924, in Twin Rocks, son of the late Charles Sr. and Anna (Brazinski) Warzel. Preceded in death by brothers, Charles Jr. and Desmond, and sisters, Wanda and Regina Weakley. Survived by wife, Mildred, Belsano; children, Cynthia Ann, wife of Gustav Molinick, Twin Rocks, and Roland T. Jr., Belsano; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Molinick, Elexis Molinick, Aileen Molinick, Kylie Molinick, Roland Warzel III and Kayla Warzel; great-grandchildren, Devon Molinick, Bobby Rummel Jr. and Emily Kate Melius; and sister, Alice Rasmussen, Irmo, S.C. Member of SS. Timothy and Mark Church, Twin Rocks. A teacher at United High School for 35 years, and taught English, Spanish and social studies. He was in the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and Korean War. Roland graduated from Blacklick Township High School in 1942 and St. Francis College in 1956. He also attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown; Union College, Schenectady, N.Y.; and Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, Mich. Charter and life member of Steve Klosz VFW, Post 7605, Twin Rocks. Member of American Legion, Post 619, Nanty Glo, and Nanty Glo Polish Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where a liturgical wake will be held Sunday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at SS. Timothy and Mark Church, Twin Rocks, with the Rev. Father James H. Conrad, STL, celebrant. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Veterans service will be conducted by the local veterans organizations.
