AUSTIN - Mae (Kirsch), 97, Nanty Glo, died Nov. 18, 2007, at home. Born May 11, 1910, in Monongahela City, daughter of the late Francis D. and Mary Margaret (Aufdenhaus) Kirsch. Preceded in death by husband, Henry W. Austin, on Nov. 5, 1977. Survived by children, Henry William Austin Jr., Dover, Del.; Francis Donald Austin, and wife, Rose, Montrose, Colo.; Carole, and husband, Dr. Daniel Leonard, Nanty Glo; Robert Martin Austin, Santa Clara, Calif.; and Frederick Bernard Austin, Flower Mound, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Sister of Peg Hartman, Dover, Del.; Mildred Starr, Apopka, Fla.; and Dorothy Henning and Mylan Kirsch, both of Dallas, Texas. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo. She was a beautician in Nanty Glo from 1934 to 2000 and at one time had the oldest active license in the state at 66 years. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where a liturgical wake will be held Friday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary s Church, with the Rev. Father David Peles. Interment to follow in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Loretto.
