Obituary of Herman J. Lieb

LIEB - Herman J., 86, Nicktown, died Nov. 21, 2007, at home. Born April 26, 1921, in Barr Township, son of Peter and Annie (Lantzy) Lieb. Preceded in death by parents; brother, John Lieb; and sisters, Edna Dumm, Sister Mary Bernadine RSM, C. Ruth Kirsch and Alma Lieb. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Rose Marie (Kline) Lieb; children, Lois, wife of Raymond E.F. Weaver, Monroeville; Ralph, married to former Mary Beth Ludwig, Nicktown; Edward "Ed", married to former Susan Stiles, Carrolltown; Arlene, wife of A. Lee Shull, Bethel Park; Dolores "Dolly", wife of Wayne Templeton, Ebensburg; Dorothy, wife of Mark O'Donnell, Brackenridge; Alan, married to former Carolyn Terrizzi, Carrolltown; Kevin, married to former Carol Hajduk, Nicktown; and Gerard "Jerry", married to former Nanette Ludwig, Irwin; also 42 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Brother of Grace B. Lieb, Northern Cambria, and Mary M. Dumm, Nicktown. Self-employed dairy farmer and proprietor of Barr Ridge Farms, Nicktown, a "Century Farm" which the Lieb family has operated for six generations. Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and Holy Name Society. Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council 2277. Member of Pennsylvania Farmers Association, Allied Milk Producers and Cambria County Farm Bureau. Life member of Spangler Fire Company. Former member of board of directors of Northern Cambria School District. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown, Father Job Foote, OSB, celebrant. Interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery.
