SHIELDS - Roger, 58 of North Center Street, Turner Apartments, Ebensburg, passed away November 25, 2007 in Cambria Twp.. Born June 12 1949 in Johnstown, son of William and Deloras (Wilson) Shields-Schellhammer. Preceded in death by father, and step-father Fred Schellhammer. Survived by mother, of Ebensburg; sister, Marsha Krug and special niece, Kerrie Krug, all of Cresson; blood brother , Jack Emerson, Revloc; half sister, Stephanie (John) Sterious of Florida; step-sisters and step-brother: Christine (Ken) Corson of Vinco; Sandra (David) Fisher of Shelbyville, Indiana; Michael (Connie) Schellhammer of Johnstown, PA; aunts and uncles: Evelyn Kring, and Donna Baith, both of Gilbertsville; Thomas Wilson, Portage; Donald Wilson of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger was a graduate of Central Cambria High School and had attended classes at the University of Pittsburgh. Permanently disabled due to an auto accident in 1966, Roger enjoyed playing bingo with his mother every Wednesday evening, listening to the music of the 1960's, in fact, he had once played in a local band himself. He was an avid video gamer, and was a voracious reader (especially science fiction and books of medieval theme.) Roger was also known to his friends to be a wiz at math and a master in the art of origami. Friends are welcome to gather from 10:00 a.m., until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Rev. Jim Farrer, officiating. Donations in Roger s memory may be made to the Ebensburg First Presbyterian Church
