ILLIG - Charles J. "Chuck", 50, Ebensburg, died Dec. 18, 2007, at home. Born Dec. 5, 1957, in Cresson, son of Charles J. Illig Sr. and Mary (Gailey) Illig-Stohon. Preceded in death by father and brother-in-law, Ro Van Guilder. Survived by mother, Mary Stohon, Cresson, and wife, the former Diana Hackett. Brother of Mary Zerbee (Mike); Patty Williamson (Dave); Fred Illig (Trina); Len Illig (Dannielle); and Tony Illig (Kathy), all of Gallitzin; Linda Van Guilder; Jim Illig (Sally); and Betty Karroli (Kenny), all of Cresson; and Bill Illig (Cindy), Martinsburg. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-nephew; and special pets, Murphy and Nel-Lee, who were always at Chuck's side. A 1976 graduate of Penn Cambria High School, Cresson. Retired from the Ebensburg State Center. Chuck was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Steelers. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Wednesday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 118 Ebony Road, Ebensburg, Pa. 15931, in Chuck's memory.
