PILESKI - Edward, 80, New Germany Road, Ebensburg, died Feb. 19, 2008, at home. Born Nov. 27, 1927, in Cairnbrook, son of Eugene and Anna (Bender) Pileski. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ruth E. (Evans) Pileski, who died Oct. 1, 2001; brother, Philip Pileski; and sisters, Cecilia Wagner, Agnes Sanna, Stella Smolko, Elizabeth Marsh, Josephine Simasek and Helen Rose. Survived by children, John, Ebensburg, and his fiancee, Bonnie Provost; Eugene, married to Theresa Fox, Ebensburg; Kathy, wife of Ross Dixon, Ebensburg; Edward E., married to Gail Hall, Kansas; and Nancy, wife of Christopher Little, New Castle; companion and special friend, Shirley Wirfel, New Germany; grandchildren, Christopher Pileski, and his wife, Tracey; Shana Lynn Pileski, and her fiance, Barry; Evan Pileski; Elly Pileski; Chad Pileski, and his wife, Kristi; Lisa Pileski, and fiance, Frank; Rachel Springer; Danielle Springer; Maria Pileski; Cody Little; and Sarah Little; great-grandchildren, Brittany Rose, Natalie Linn, Mackenzie Marie, Emma Jeanne, Philomena Marie and Isaac John; brother, Joseph Pileski, Ebensburg; and sister, Sophie Robertson, Mineral Point. Ed worked for 37 years as a welder in the car shop of Bethlehem Steel. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II who served in Okinawa. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany, and sang with the church choir. Ed was know as a "gentlemen farmer" and enjoyed dancing the polka and fishing. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil for the deceased will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Alfred Patterson, OSB. Committal, St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany. Military graveside service by St. Michael Post 551, American Legion.
