Obituary of Jelisa Ann Swartz

SWARTZ – Jelisa Ann “Jeesy”, 29, of Nolo.  God sent her mother, Missy to bring her home on Oct. 22, 2019. Born Sept. 4, 1990 in Johnstown.  Preceded in death by her mother, Melissa Swartz; sister, Lakeisha; maternal grandfather, Larry Swartz; and paternal grandfather, Matthew Thompson. Survived by father, Edward Thompson; paternal grandmother, Gersilee Thompson; maternal grandparents, Eileen and Vernon Skebeck; foster parents, Pam and Bill Voytek; and children, Aaliyah, Giovanni; and Noah. Sister of Salina Swartz; Tawsha (Landell) Reynolds; Javin Christian; Heather Hamer; Kweilin Christian; Latya Hamer; and Dorian Long. Several special friends and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Jelisa loved music and spending time with her friends. Friends will be received from 2-8p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where Gospel Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. that evening, Pastor Serena Hardison, officiating. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant.  Interment, United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano.
