Obituary of Clifford W. Alexander
ALEXANDER – Clifford W., 92, of Belsano, went to be with the Lord Dec. 14, 2019 at home. Born Feb. 15, 1927 in Mineral Point, son of the late Floyd and Katie Mae (Ford) Alexander. Preceded in death by brothers, Earl and Floyd Jr.; sisters, Esther McClellen and Dorothy Brummert. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Mary Jane Gordon; and children, David W., (Linda Chappell) Alexander; Susan J. (James, Jr.) Leleck; Amber L. (Steve) Zavatski; and Paul D. (Barb Bender) Alexander. Grandchildren, David, Jake, Sharon, James, Jesika, Ryan, Katie, Rebecca, Stephen, Eric and Lynn. Great Grandchildren, Parker, Paige, Timothy, Brandon, Memphis, Dane, Brady, Quinn, Vivian, Julian, Noah, Seth and Elayna. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Member of Wesleyan Holiness Church of Portage for over 60 years and was also on the school board of the Wesleyan Holiness Academy. US Army Sergeant having served during both WWII and the Korean War. Retired from Bethlehem Steel with over 30 years of service. Clifford enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family and will be sadly missed. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Pastor Russell Havener, officiating. Interment, Ford Cemetery, Mineral Point.
