Obituary of Kathryne M. "Kaye" Hancharick

HANCHARICK – Kathryne M.”Kaye”,88, of Amber Hills, Ebensburg, formerly of Mundys Corner, went to be with the Lord Jan. 30, 2020. Born Feb. 16, 1931 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Charles K., Sr. and Marie (Yocum) Conner. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph S. Hancharick, Sr.; brother, Charles K. Conner, Jr. and sister, Phyllis J. Krultz. Beloved mother of Kathy (Bob) Gongloff; Joe (Joanne) Hancharick; and John Hancharick. 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.  Also survived by sister in law, Marge Younkin; brother in law, James Krultz; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Kaye was a wonderful MomMom who loved spending time with her grandchildren and her “greats.” She particularly enjoyed baking special treats at holidays for them. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles and watch jeopardy. A special thank you to Grane Hospice and Amber Hills & Staff for their loving and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, officiating. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donation in Kaye’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
