Obituary of Marilyn K. Learn

LEARN – Marilyn K. (Watson), 77, of Johnstown, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away February 27, 2020 at home.  Born August 15, 1942 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Barden D. and Margaret L. (Weaver) Watson.  Preceded in death by daughter Marcey Karashin, son-in-law Harry Gittings, and brother-in-law Enos Silbaugh.  Survived by husband, Edwin D. Learn, to whom she was married 57 years; and children:  Karen Gittings, Darlington, S.C.; Randy (Pam) Learn, Beaver, Pa.; and Craig (Bridget) Learn, of Ebensburg.  Also grandchildren:  Whitney (Michael) Conjeski, Stephanie (Kris) Roper,  Chad (Amy) Croyle,  Alissa (Bruce) Legros, Sarah (Randall) McCool, Kacey Haluska (fiancé Cody Kinback), Patrick and Austin Learn; and nine great-grandchildren.  Also sister, Linda Silbaugh, Johnstown; sister-in-law Lorrie (Jim) Anderson, Florida and son-in-law Ricky Karashin, Ebensburg.  Marilyn was a graduate of Blacklick Township High School, Point Park and Mt. Aloysius Colleges.   She was a Registered Nurse and had served the former Laurel Crest Manor for 17 years.  She enjoyed camping, boating, traveling with her husband, sewing, and working on family genealogy.  A member of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday. March 14th, 2020. the Rev. John R. Virgin, officiating.  Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.   In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Ebensburg United Methodist Church.
