Obituary of Rose Ella Skiles

SKILES – Rose Ella (Korb), 91, formerly of Lemon Drop Road, Ebensburg, passed away July 6, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born November 8, 1928 in Somerset, daughter of the late Charles A. and Florence (Donehay) Korb.  Preceded in death by husband John E. “Jack” Skiles, Sr., and six siblings.  Survived by children:  John Skiles, Jr.;  Jill A. (Ken) Stone; Judy L. (Ken) Byrne; and Jean L. (Mike) Lee.  Also 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by sister, Lois Sumey. Rose loved her family, from doting on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to camping and family dinners, she was the model “Mom”.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and the occasional trips to the casinos.  She will be missed by all who loved her.  At her request, there will be no viewing, and private family celebration of her life is planned for the future.  Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
