Obituary of Sylvia Smith

SMITH - Sylvia, 72, a resident of Sunset House, Ebensburg Center, and formerly the Altoona Center, passed away November 4, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born August 6, 1948 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Willard Johnson and Fannie Smith.  Preceded in death by parents, brother Don Smith, and special aunt Lillie Mae Smith.  Survived by sisters:  Ann Rainey, Barbara Smith, Paulette Smith, and Lennetta Smith; brother, Rodney Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and her friends, staff and housemates at the Center.   Sylvia was well known at the Center for her love of wearing fancy hats.  She loved to socialize when people spoke to her and enjoyed shopping trips for clothes and hats.  A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg, Ebensburg Center Chaplain Rev. Dan Johnson, officiating.
