Obituary of Lorene (Chirdon) Malloy

MALLOY – Lorene (Chirdon), 93, favorably known as Miss Lee, passed away November 22, 2020. She was born October 12, 1927 in Portage, to the late Clarence & Marie (Hufford) Chirdon. Proceeded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry J. Malloy, Jr., as well as brothers, George, Clarence David, and Donald Chirdon.   Survived by her daughter, Diane Malloy, and beloved dog Pandy.  Also survived by brother, Lloyd Chirdon and his family, of Ohio. Miss Lee was a pillar of the community, touching many lives through her love of dance. She owned and operated a small dance school in Ebensburg for over 65 years. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.   Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg; followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 27th, at Holy Name Church, Rev. Fr. Brian Warchola, celebrant. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum. A special thank you to all of Miss Lee’s caregivers, who afforded her the opportunity to live independently at home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windber Hospice, or to the Carmelite Monastery, Loretto (2101 Manor Dr. Loretto, Pa 15940).
