KINKEAD – Nadine (Maurer) “Muff”. 92, of York, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away January 16, 2021 at ManorCare Health Service – Kingston Court, York County.  Born September 9, 1928 in Phillipsburg, PA, daughter of the late Milton J. and Florine (Thomas) Maurer.  Preceded in death by husband, John S. “Jack” Kinkead, brothers: Robert E. (Dorothy) and M. James Mauer, sister: Myrna B. Pizzino and great grandson: Lucas Shugars.  Survived by children:  Susan K. (Thomas) Shugars, York; Mark S. (Jane) Kinkead, Warren, Ohio; Lynn Ann (James) Hrabosky, Prospect, Pa.; and John A. (Julie) Kinkead, Grantville, Pa.; as well as six grandchildren, Mark Shugars, Michael (Katie) Shugars, Megan (Jeremy) Baker, Kiff (Laura) Kinkead, Chad (Lorelei) Kinkead, Bret (Chelsea) Kinkead and six great-grandchildren.  Also survived by sister-in-law Carolyn Maurer, Ebensburg and brother-in-law Babe Pizzino, Altoona.  Retired in 2010, Muff had been a lay minister in the Presbyterian Church for over 20 years.  She had served as pastor at the Patton and Cresson Presbyterian Churches, and in her retirement, was a member of the Kruetz Creek Presbyterian Church in York, PA.  Muff loved life; she enjoyed bowling, golf, playing bridge and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Her family and her ministry were the love of her life.  A gathering of friends and family will be held at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg  on February 5, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  A Memorial Service will be held directly after.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Nadine’s memory may be made to the Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church, 85 Old Church Lane, York, PA 17406 or the Ebensburg Public Library, 225 W. Highland Ave., Ebensburg, PA 15931.
