Obituary of Donald Peter Link

LINK – Donald “Pete”, 86, of Ebensburg, passed away January 16, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born December 11, 1934 in Ebensburg son of the late T. Gordon and Gladys (Yingling) Link.  Preceded in death by brothers: F. Joseph Link and Thomas G. Link, Jr.  Survived by children:  Michele (Thad) Taylor, Suwanee, GA.; David (Peggie) Link, Ebensburg;  Karen (Mike) Zabrzeski, Loretto; Doug (Shelly) Link, Ebensburg;   grandchildren: Hanna & Zachary Taylor; Samantha (Matt) Kemock, Danielle (Justin) Griswald, Kayla (Cliff) Eckenrode, Elyse (Andrew) McConnell, Michael Zabrzeski, Jacob (Krista) Zabrzeski, Emily & Isabella Zabrzeski;  Dylan (Maria) Link and Courtney (Derek) Link; and great-grandchildren:  Christopher, Jonah, Judah, Landon, Jace, Braxton, and Dominic.  Also survived by brother:  Paul Link, Cresson.  Pete was a graduate of the Ebensburg-Cambria High School and Holy Name Elementary School.  A life-long member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg.  He was the former owner/operator of Pete Link Plumbing & Heating in Ebensburg for 38 years.  He enjoyed traveling to visit his children all over the United States, attending local sporting events, especially to see his grandchildren play, and was an avid Notre Dame sports fan.   He was a staple at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Coffee Clubs in town and enjoyed time with his coffee buddies.  At his request, there will be no visitation.  A gathering of friends will be held from 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Holy Name Church Narthex until time of Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant.  Interment at Holy Name Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Pete’s memory may be made to the Holy Name School Angel Fund or to the charity of your choice.  Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
