Obituary of William George Sackie

SACKIE – William G., 66, of Nanty Glo, passed away January 29, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born   December 24, 1954 in Johnstown, son of the late Albert and Ann Sackie.  Proceeded in death by parents and wife, Doreen Rita (Fuller) Sackie (2015), with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.  Beloved brother of Mary Ann (William) Gongloff; Deborah (Dennis) Harvey; Barbara Manculich; and Katherine (Thomas) Deskevich, whom cared unselfishly for him during his illness.  Also survived by sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carol (Ed) Williamson; nephews: John (Debra) Gongloff; William (Michelle) Gongloff; Phillip Manculich; Justin Manculich; Michael Williamson; and Mark (Sarah) Williamson;  nieces:  Shannon (Tim) Chapman, Ashley Deskevich; and Shari (Jamie) Cesarz; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.  Bill was quite the handyman professionally and for his sisters.  His favorite vacation was his home and spending time at Commons Hardware with the guys.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, the Rev. Brian Warchola, officiating.  Interment at Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner.
