Obituary of Mary S. Evans

EVANS -  Mary S., 91, formerly of Julian St, Ebensburg, PA, passed away February 21, 2021 at Richland Rehabilitation Center in Johnstown, where she had resided for the last two years.  Mary was born in Scotland to Mary and Lauchlan Neil and is survived by her dear “wee” sister, Cathie, who still resides in Edinburgh.  Mary had a brother, Lochie, who passed away many years prior.  She is also survived by her grandson, Alexander Evans and his wife, Alyssa, who moved from Pittsburgh in 2018, to care for her.  She was the beloved wife to the late Dave (Gomer) Evans and loving mother to her late son, Scott Evans.  Mary’s extended family consisted of Dave’s many siblings, their spouses and their children and grandchildren, whom she loved to get together with during picnics, birthdays and reunions.  Mary was an excellent seamstress and retired from the JoAnn Dress Factory in Ebensburg, with many years of service.  At the request of the family, there will be no viewing or funeral arrangements. Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
