OLSAVSKY – Thomas Joseph, 58, of Maryland, formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away April 3, 2019 at home. Born Oct. 1, 1960 in Johnstown, son of the late Ignatius Joseph and Irene Catherine (Liko) Olsavsky. Survived by four brothers; five sisters; and numerous nieces & nephews. Tom proudly served this nation as Master Sergeant (Ret.), US Army Reserves. He was a very devout catholic who truly loved his God and country. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military Rite by Nanty Glo, Vintondale and Twin Rocks Veterans Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
