MAKIN – Ruth Ann (Allsopp), 78, of Cambria Twp., passed away June 25, 2021 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 30, 1943 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Lester David and Grace Virginia (Burkey) Allsopp. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, 2 brothers, a brother in law, and son, James David. Survived by her children, Jamie (Jim) Noel; and Jody (Nicole) Makin. Grandchildren, Nathan, (Britney) Berezansky, Jordan (Zachary) Carden, Colton Makin and Bethany Maderia. Great Grandchildren, Lincoln, Luke and Kennedy. Also survived by siblings, Betty (Mark) Hull; Kathy (Denny) Mehall; Deborah Malzi; Daniel Joseph (Zing) Allsopp; and Barbara Allsopp; and her extended family of James C. Makin. A 1964 graduate of Conemaugh School of Nursing, she spent most of her career as a clinical coordinator at the former Laurel Crest Manor, until she retired in 2008. She was a member of the South Ebensburg United Church of Christ and member of the Tres Dias Community. Preparing food for people and spreading the Word of God was her love language. She served on the Prison Ministries Team and fed the homeless for many years. Vacationing with her family and gardening were her favorite pastimes. Ruth truly made a difference in the lives of many and she will be forever missed. Friends will be received from 2-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg and from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Ebensburg United Church of Christ, Andy Jones, lay minister, officiating. Interment to follow at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
