Obituary of Constance M. Ray

Please share a memory of Constance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

RAY - Constance M. “Connie”, 89, of Nanty Glo, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord at home surrounded by her family on October 24, 2021.  Born in New York on December 15, 1931 to the late Victor and Gladys Johnson. Preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Jack; son, Jack, Jr.; and beloved pet companions, Shasta and Snowy.  Survived by daughters, Cathy Sekerak and Susan (Jeff) Gore; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  Also survived by brother, Victor “Wally” Johnson, of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Connie will be remembered for her great love and compassion for her family, friends and any person she came into contact with.  Her gift of love can only be described as God given.  She had the unique ability to make people feel better by just being around her.  You always left happier than when you came. She always had a listening ear for anyone needing to share a problem or concern.  Without a doubt, she had a solution…Jesus.  When she told you she was praying for you, you could absolutely count on it.  Her passions were serving the Lord, loving her family and pointing others to Jesus.  She was a member of the Nanty Glo CMA Church, where she joyfully served for over 60 years.  The faith that she had and the life that she lived every single day has left an eternal mark on all those who knew her.  She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman.  Our family would like to thank Megan and Barb from Grane Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion that they showed her. She thought the world of you both.  Also granddaughters, Jessica and Melissa.  How you were with your grandmother speaks volumes about her life. A celebration of Connie’s life will be held from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Nanty Glo CMA Church, Pastor Russell Havener, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Connie’s memory to the Cambria County Humane Society or the Nanty Glo CMA Church.  Arrangements are in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Condolences may be left for the family at: www.askew-houser.com
