Obituary of Evelyn (Cochran) Olsavsky

OLSAVSKY – Evelyn, (Cochran), 71, of Ebensburg, passed away January 19, 2022 at home.  Born December 9th, 1950 in Lilly RD, daughter of the late John and Stella (Jancuk) Cochran.  Preceded in death by brothers and sisters:  Thomas Cochran, Lucille Hufford, Mary Charles, Bernadine Cabala, John Cochran, and an infant brother,  Francis.  Survived by former husband Francis Olsavsky, Ebensburg;  children:  Renee (Bryan) Jandorf, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Brad (Kari) Olsavsky, Cranberry Twp., Pa.; Doug Olsavsky (fiance’ Haley), Cary, NC.; and Ryan Olsavsky (Kelsey Hartwiger) of Johnstown; and seven grandchildren: Xavier, Xander,Chase, Mary, Rhys, Walter and Cole.  Also survived by sister, Margaret Burkheimer; brother Daniel (Denise) Cochran; and sister-in-law Margaret Cochran.   Evelyn was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a retired social worker for the PA Department of Welfare.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24th, at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Fr. Brian Warchola, celebrant.  Interment at Holy Name Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (www.givetochildrens.org).  Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.  Condolences to the family may be left at www.askew-houser.com
