Obituary of Marcy A. Rummel

RUMMEL – Marcy A., 57, of Ebensburg, went to be with the angels and saints on January 19, 2022. Born July 18, 1964 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Leo and Veronica Sanderson. Preceded in death by great niece, Marissa; and niece, Nicole. Survived by husband of nearly 25 years, Paul Rummel; children, Nathan (Paige) Cortese; Zachary Cortese; and Jeremy Rummel. Granddaughters, Vayda and Camilla Cortese. Also survived by brother, Brett (Jennifer) Sanderson; beloved niece, Jaime; numerous nieces and nephews; and former husband, Chuck Cortese. Marcy enjoyed taking care of the residents at the Ebensburg Center, where she was a dietary aide.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She also loved spending quality time with her granddaughters and taking care of her pets. Marcy will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  At Marcy’s request there will be no viewing. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating.
