Obituary of Joyce H. Frank

FRANK - Joyce (Horton), 76, of Ebensburg, passed away January 23, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born January 18, 1946 in Altoona, daughter of the late Norman “Dick” and Verna (Dwyer) Horton.  Survived by husband, Ronald Frank, ending a marriage union of 54 years.  Also survived by sisters:  Patricia (Mike) Buige, Crossville, TN; Susan (George) Ficke, Lodi, Ohio; Jan Balsinger and her partner Ron, Ebensburg, and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and God-Children.  She is also survived by a very special sister-in-law who knows who she is and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts.  Joyce retired from the Ebensburg Center (State School) after 30 years in 1997 at the age of 49.  She was a devoted member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church and spent many hours there volunteering.  Joy loved cats, gardening and sharing the fruits of her gardening with friends and family.  Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Fr. Brian Warchola, celebrant.  Masks and Covid precautions are requested for both visitation and service.  Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Kindred Journey Haiti Missions.  Condolences for the family may be left at www.askew-houser.com
