Obituary of Donna J. Molnar

MOLNAR– Donna J. (Fisher), 85, of Mundys Corner, passed away Feb. 24, 2022. Born March 19, 1936 in East Conemaugh, daughter of the late Robert E., Sr. and Mary J. (Wurm) Fisher. Preceded in death by sister, Patricia Unger; brothers, Robert E., Jr., James J. and Richard C.; brother in law, Stephen Unger; and grandson, Ron Dax. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by husband of 63 years, Eugene J. Molnar and children, David (Kari) Molnar; Michele (Earl) Ivory; and Mark (Stephanie) Molnar. Grandchildren, Michael (Leila) Molnar, Brianne (Paul) Verardi, Amber (Tim) Schmitt, Shane Adams, Morgan and Alec Molnar. Great Grandsons, Corey and Nathan Schmitt. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and sisters in law, JoAnn (Pender) Fisher, JoAnn (Conrad) Fisher and Nancy (Mateer) Fisher. A devoted Catholic and active member of St. John Vianney Church, Mundys Corner, where she was famous for her soup and sub sales; and was heavily involved in the preparation and serving of many church hall functions. Donna was devoted to her family, especially her husband and enjoyed watching the Pirates and Penguins games together. She loved playing cards, word search books, traveling and cooking big holiday meals for her family. Donna loved taking care of others and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, the Rev. Peter Lyons, TOR. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
