Obituary of June M. Gresko

GRESKO – June M. (Mazzaferri), 95, formerly of Vintondale, passed away peacefully July 2^nd, 2022 at Cambria Care Center.  Born August 31^st, 1926 in the village of Scott Glen in Indiana County, daughter of the late John and Clara Mazzaferri.  Preceded in death by husband of 69 years, Andrew E. Gresko, who passed in 2016 and brothers Samuel, Mario, and Peter.  Survived by daughter and son:  Patricia (Brian) Cafasso, and  Craig A. Gresko, both of Portage.  Loving grandmother to Matthew (Jennifer) Cafasso, Windber; Clara (Grant) Struthers, Montgomery Village, Maryland; and great-grandchildren:  Ava Cafasso, Nolan and Evan Struthers.  Also survived by sister, Sr. Mary Anthony Mazzaferri, OSF, of Milan, Illinios, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  June was a devote Catholic, a member of the former Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Vintondale.  In her younger years, she had worked at an Ebensburg laundrey and later as a laborer for the War effort in Ohio.  She was a great Italian cook and upon her marriage, learned many of the secrets of Slovak cooking from her husband.  June loved to read, do crossword puzzles and take hikes and walks.  Grateful thanks is extended to the caring staff at the Cambria Care Center.  Friends will be received from 12:00 noon until the time of Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, the Rev. Fr.
