Obituary of Elsie Louise Wise

WISE – Elsie “Louise”, 97, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully July 16, 2022 at Autumn’s View, Portage.  Born August 20, 1924 in Altoona, Daughter of the late   Emil and Margaret (Steele) Boese.  She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Bruce Wise; daughter-in-law Cindy Wise; son in law David Gould; siblings Herbert and Margie, and step-siblings: Mahlon, Martin, and Naomi.   Survived by daughter Nancy Gould and son D. Bruce Wise, both of Ebensburg.  Also survived by grandchildren: Jeffrey (Betsy) Gould, Rick (Lori) Gould, Leigh Ann (Doug) Long, Justin (Angela) Wise,  and Brian (Becky) Wise; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; Also survived by sister, Georgianna Biath, of Duncansville.  Louise was a longtime member of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Association.  She enjoyed reading, needlepoint and gardening and will be long remembered for her beautiful flowers.  Along with her late husband, she had been the former owner of Wise Mobile Terrace, Ebensburg.  The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Maples Winds/Autumns View Care Centers.  Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m., until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 18^th, at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, Rev. Ashley Weyant, officiating.  Interment at Alto Reste Cemetery, Altoona.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ebensburg United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.  Condolence for the family may be left at www.askew-houser.com
