KNAPIC – Christine (Salko), 95, of Blacklick Twp., passed away unexpectedly August 27, 2022 at home. Born October 11, 1926 in Twin Rocks, daughter of the late John and Ann (Krisko) Salko. She was the “other half of Chris and Mick” and was preceded in death by her husband Michael S. “Mick” Knapic; daughter, Denise Kovach, and son-in-law Lewis Kovach. Survived by sons, Douglas (Debbie) and Jerry (Laura); 6 grandchildren: Erin, Jaime, Jill, Scott, Kayla and Katrina; and 17 great-grandchildren: Luke, Lexy, Colby, Tatum, Maddox, Niko, Maria, Lyla, Tommy, Silas, Harry, Leo, Remmington, Toulson, Carmine, Gabe, and Trinity. Also survived by her sister, Ann Long. A member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. She was fiercely independent and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also assisted her late husband with the family business, the former Knapic Tavern for many years.
