Obituary of Robert E. Vivis

VIVIS – Robert E., 90, of Nanty Glo, passed away Sept. 8, 2022 at home. Born August 23, 1932, son of the late William and Loretta (O’Connor) Vivis. Preceded in death by wife, Lorene; son, Robert, Jr.; step sons, Joseph and Richard; step daughter, Laurie Hill; grandson, Bryan Hill; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Survived by children, William (MaryLou) Ardini; Catherine Cambria; Linda Jeschonek; David (Karen) Vivis; and son in law, Fred Hill. 24 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren ; and 17 Great Great Grandchildren. Also survived by one sister; 5 brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from BethEnergy Mines, Ebensburg, with 45 years of service. US Army veteran during the Korean War.  Member of Nanty Glo L.O.O.M., Lodge 207, Nanty Glo American Legion 619, Twin Rocks VFW 7605, Nanty Glo Polish Club, Local 1386 UMWA, Nanty Glo and Blue Goose Sportsmans Club. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery.
