Roberto Cortez Obituary

CORTEZ – Roberto, 46, of Sunderland, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly October 8th, 2022 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born April 8th, 1976 in Glendale, California,  son of Roberto and Estela (Mercado) Cortes.  Survived by parents, of Ontario, California, wife of 25 years, Melanie (Horner) Cortez, Sunderland, MD and sons: Robert and Clayton Cortez.  Also survived by brother,  Edgar (Danielle) Cortez, of Phelan, CA and sister, Sandra (Manuel) Aviles, of Fontana, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Roberto had a passion for everything cars, loved to travel, especially to beach, and was an avid swimmer.  Roberto also loved to draw.  He retired from the United States Air Force, where he served as a bio-environmental engineer.  Friends will be received from noon until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, Pennsylvania 15931, the Rev.
