Obituary of A. Edward Law

LAW – A. Edward, 75, of Nanty Glo, passed away December 8, 2022 at home, after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. Born January 10, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late William Law, Jr. and Lillian P. Trevorrow. Preceded in death by son, Charles Law; grandson, Sawyer Lynch; daughter- in-law, Dawn Law; and sister, Gloria Law.  Survived by wife, Ivah, to whom he was married for 54 years; children, Brian M. Law; and Jennifer N. (Bill) Lynch. Grandchildren, Erika, Jacob, Connor, Mackay, Rogan and Juliet. Also survived by sisters, Billie (Jason) Whorl; Krissy (Adam) Weir; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was an insurance salesman with the former Law Insurance Associates, Nanty Glo. Member of Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Past Master of Masonic Temple Lodge 278, Johnstown. Sons of the American Revolution. Past Cub and Scout Master. Member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Altoona and the Jaffa Shriners. Ed enjoyed gardening, wine tasting, baking while singing to his music in the kitchen, his many hats, spending time with his grandkids and his beloved dogs, Maya and Moose. A special thank you to Family Hospice, UPMC-Ebensburg for their loving care and compassion. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at the  Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where  funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, and please wear your favorite hat!  Pastor Bill Warrick, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society of Cambria County in Ed’s memory.
