Maxine "Max" Lloyd Obituary

LLOYD – Maxine “Max”, 68, of Nanty Glo, passed away at home December 9, 2022 after a battle with mesothelioma. Born December 20, 1953 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Rabel) Crawford. Preceded in death by infant sister, Christine Crawford. Survived by husband, Sam Lloyd, married in 1974, just having celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on November 30th. Also survived by children, Megan Lloyd; and Shane (Lydia) Lloyd; Grandchildren, Quinten and Aubrey; brother, James Crawford; and special nephew, Tyler Crawford. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Retired medical technologist with Miners Hospital, Hastings for 38 years. Max enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to travel and attend concerts with her daughter.  Friends will be  received from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Max's memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
