Obituary of Clyde Link
LINK – Clyde Lewis, 86, of Nicktown, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at home. Born August 27, 1936 on the family farm in the Patton area, son of the late Wilfred and Alice (Nagle) Link. Preceded in death by wife, Edna (Nelen) Link, son Donald Joseph Link; grandson Doug Lewis Link, brother Gerald Link, sons-in-law Vernon Colgan and Francis Wirfel. Survived by children: Theresa (Theodore) Cromling; Barbara Colgan; Earl (Loreen) Link; Patricia Link (Sheila Chambers); Linda (William) O’Conner, Jean (Alan) Wirfel; Cynthia (Tim) Henderson; Catherine (Matthew) Bouch; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings: Harold Link; Mary Louise Little; Jim Link; Ray Link; Clete Link; Janet Holley; and Alma Dotts; as well as sisters-in-law Mary Buck and Sr. Theresa Nelen, CCW. A retired coal miner from BethEnergy Mines #33 and a member of the United Mine Workers. Clyde enjoyed farming, cutting wood and spending time with his family. Sundays were extra special when family would gather together to enjoy dinner; conversation and lots of kids playing in the yard. A member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Nicktown. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at St. Nicholas Church, Rev. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, celebrant. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Clyde’s memory to The Smile Train (www.smiletrain.org) or the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, (www.stjude.org)
