Betty Jane was my half sister. Her biological mother, my mother, was not mentioned at all in her obituary. I was never really clear on the circumstances which led to her being raised by Beulah and Charles, who were actually my grandparents, other than the fact that Beulah convinced my mom that it was in Betty Jane’s best interest that they take over. My mom did play a roll in Betty’s life. In fact, both Betty and her late son Ronnie stated at our home on occasion and were always welcomed. Just so people know.
