SELIGA – Russell, 82 of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully October 2, 2023, at home.  Born February 23, 1941 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Joseph J. and Virginia M. (Gelbke) Seliga. Preceded in death by an infant daughter Cindy, his sister Lois Ann Seliga, and brothers: Donald and Joseph Seliga. Survived by loving wife of 60 years Linda (Mull) Seliga; children, Russell “Rusty” (Kelly) Seliga;  Scott Seliga, Steve Seliga; and LynnAnn (Jim) Stickler. Grandchildren Brandon (Elizabeth) Stickler and Alex (Jeremy) Giardina; great grandchildren Eleanor Stickler and Camryn Giardina, as well as brother Regis Seliga and sister Jenny Seliga Farkas.  Russ was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he had served as Financial Secretary, served on the Church Council, the Activities & Entertainment committee as well as a longtime Sunday usher.  He loved to winter in Florida with his wife Linda and was a member of “Romeos” (Retired Old Men Club).  He was retired from Louis Long Lumber Company after 21 years of service as a supervisor and safety director and had also worked 21 years at the former Ebensburg Acme Market.  Russ’s hobbies included fishing, reading, woodworking (his creations most often donated to his church or gifted to his family) and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct 6th, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mundy’s Corner, the Rev. Kevin McNamara, officiating. Committal, Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Russ’ memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (www.secure2.wish.org)
