JONES – Elmer, 77, of Nanty Glo, passed away October 6, 2023 at home. Born September 28, 1946 in Johnstown, son of the late John Elmer and Nora Margaret Jones. Preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters; and son in law, John Churilla. Survived by wife, the former Myrtle Findley; son, Robert (Michele) Jones; and daughter, Margaret Churilla. 4 Grandchildren. 3 Great Grandchildren with one on the way! Also survived by sister, Virginia Thornton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Boeing with 20 years of service. US Army veteran during Vietnam War. Member Nanty Glo VFW. Elmer enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting the neighbors on his scooter. Friends will be received  from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the Rev. Kevin McNamara, officiating. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Military Rite by Blacklick Valley Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans in Elmer's memory. Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
