SMITHBOWER – Dr. Kenneth F., 75, of Ebensburg, passed away November 11, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born February 11, 1948 in Altoona, son of the late Isidore and Louise (Driskal) Smithbower.  Survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian (Auckerman) Smithbower;  son, Kenneth F. II (Jeannie) Smithbower, of Johnstown; Pam (Matt) Rudder, Clarksburg, West Virginia and grandchildren Reagan and Rylee Mae Rudder.  Also survived by sisters and brother: Joanne (Robert) Finkle, Donna (Howard) Farabaugh, Mary Lou (Dominic) Girard, and Paul (Janet) Smithbower.  Ken was owner/operator of the former Smithbower Chiropractic in Ebensburg for 40 years.  A graduate of the National University of Health Sciences, School of Chiropractic Medicine.    Life member of the Ebensburg Rotary Club, where he had served as a past president, Paul Harris Fellow, and a Diamond Pin Perfect Attendance member.  A life member of the National Rifle Association and the Chest Springs Sportsman Club, Ken loved the outdoors, hunting, raising animals on his farm, and providing fire wood for many friends and neighbors.  Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Matthew Rudder, Ken’s son-in-law, officiating.  Interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org)  Condolences to the family may be left at (www.askew-houser.com)
