Theresa Peacock Obituary
PEACOCK - Mary Theresa (Cossick), 77, of Ebensburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday November 18, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian University Hospital. Born May 11, 1946 in Philipsburg, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Kibe) Cossick. Preceded in death by infant granddaughter Maddison Brooke; brother Joe and sisters Babe and Jean. Survived by children: Mary Ellen Peacock, Ebensburg; Marcia (Tom) Reynolds, Mineral Point; and James Peacock, Ebensburg; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Larry Cossick of Florida and sister Judy Askey, Coalport. “Theresa” was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg, where she was a member of the prayer chain and a longtime volunteer for the annual festival dinners. She had been a server at Kosta's Restaurant and Clark Powell's Restaurant for many years. Growing up in Coalport, at the former Cossick Hotel, her family's business, she developed a love for cooking, serving, and the hospitality industry. She will be long remembered for her love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her homemade spaghetti, her beautiful ceramics, and her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Football.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant. Interment at St. Basil the Great Catholic Cemetery in Coalport. In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa's memory may be made to Ebensburg Ambulance Association or to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Foundation, Pittsburgh.
