When me and Jeff were starting the CABIN in the woods between the two houses, Mike helped us set the posts, and when we asked for a level he got us a 2 liter bottle with water in it (they still had the black bottoms) I have used it since and showed my kids. Water level.

I remember Mike used to always park his Chevett behind a tree at ball practice and one day a foul ball went right through the tree and broke his windshield

We will miss you so much, uncle Mike, you always reminded us so much of our dad. I loved your sense of humor, your jokes and stories. I met Mike for the first time 30 years ago while dating Lori. It was the start of a long, warm friendship. Not long after, Mike became my father-in-Law. Like a father, Mike treated me like one of his own. Mike was my mentor, but above all, he was one of my best friends. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched. As I look out on the frozen Iowa prairie, Mike lives on: in the fence posts he helped me set, the chicken coop he helped me build, in the swing set he built for his grandchildren, the stumps of the trees we felled. I could go on and on. Godspeed Mike, til we meet again!

Jean, I have known Mike since we were kids, always such a nice guy! It was such a surprise and so nice seeing you and Mike last year on our cruise. I am so sorry for your loss, I will not be able to get to the funeral since I have another commitment Thursday. Please know that you and your family will be in our prayers today and in the future!
