KASECKY – Steve, Sr., 81, of Nanty Glo, passed away Jan. 17, 2024 at home. Born Sept. 19, 1942 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Andrew and Pearl (Kosh) Kasecky. Preceded in death by son, Francis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Ethel Buck. Survived by wife, Linda, of 54 years; son, Steve, Jr. (Tina); and daughter, Natalie (Chad). Grandchildren, Vanessa; Paige (Chase); Aliyah (Devin); Jace; and Kiefer. Also survived by sisters, Linda and Karen; and numerous extended family and friends. Veteran of US Navy, having served during Cuban Missile Crisis and Early Vietnam Era. He proudly served on the former Nanty Glo Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard and later with the Twin Rocks Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #7605 Steve Klosz Rifle Squad. Steve would like to thank all the veterans he made friends with in the Honor Guard and Rifle Squad. He deeply loved his family. He also enjoyed feeding the birds each morning. At Steve’s request, there will be no viewing. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, officiating. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo. Military Rite by Blacklick Valley Ritual Team.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
