Obituary of Kelly Anne O'Brien

O'BRIEN - Kelly Anne, 53 of Revloc, passed away January 16, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born June 5, 1970 in Johnstown, daughter of Richard and Martha (Estep) O'Brien.   Preceded in death by father, Richard "Dick" O'Brien; maternal grandparents: Jean (McSparran) and James F. "Ted" Estep, Sr.; paternal grandparents: Eleanor "Gail" (George) and Matthew J. O'Brien; uncle, Thomas A. Estep III; uncle, Ben Tuchi; aunt, Sally O'Brien; and infant nieces: Meghan and Marie O'Brien.  Survived by her mother, Martha O'Brien, of Ebensburg; sons: Justin Jeffers, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and William Alexander Jeffers, of Stow, Ohio;  former husband, Harold W. Jeffers, Kendallville, Indiana; dogs, Zeus and Apollo; brother, Kevin S. (Rebecca) O'Brien, Ebensburg; nieces and nephews: Abigail, Jameson, Liam, Isabel, and Finnegan O'Brien.  Also survived by uncles: James F. Estep, Jr., Ebensburg and David F. (Cathy) Estep, Beverly, Mass., Matthew J. O’Brien, Gettysburg; aunts: Patricia Tuchi, AZ, Colleen (Jim) Forst, Morgantown, WV, Susan Estep, Ebensburg, and Kerry Himmelberger, San Diego; and numerous cousins on both the O'Brien and Estep sides of the family. Kelly attended the University of Arizona, Penn State, Altoona, and PSU Main Campus, graduating from Penn State with a BS degree in Criminal Justice.  She had been employed as a social worker and probation officer in the state of Indiana and here in Pennsylvania.  She had also worked as a bartender and server at many of the area restaurants.  Kelly had a good heart and did her best to overcome a series of set-backs in her life. She was very proud of her two sons, whom she loved dearly. In death, she was an organ donor, giving back to the end. A Gathering of Friends will be held on Friday, Jun 7th, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a  brief Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Rev James Farrer, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Kelly's memory may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
