EDMISTON – Edward James, 68, of Ebensburg, passed away January 21, 2024 at Maple Heights Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loving family.  Born March 4, 1955 in Johnstown, son of Thomas L. Edmiston and Ruth (Kim) Carney.  He is preceded in death by his father, brother T.L. Edmiston, niece Cindy Donaldson & nephew, Davey Edmiston, Jr.  Survived by mother, Ruth, of Ebensburg; wife, Bernadette, of Ebensburg; children: Eddie Jr. (Moira); Stephanie (Craig) Carney, Jennifer (Bill) Rennecamp; Julie (Tom) Willouby; all of Pittsburgh, Tracy (Harrison), West Virginia; and Thomas & Ashley, at home.   Also survived by brothers:  David (Karen); Bill (Lydia); Charles (Janet); and sister, Nancy (Lee) Bugala, all of Ebensburg.  Ed was the founder of SWR, Ebensburg (1990 – 1994), then relocated to the Philippines, for 25 years, where he established a branch of the business.  He returned to Ebensburg and served as Director of Engineering at SWR.  Ed will be long remembered for being a kind man, “Love is patient, love is kind.” (Corinthians 13:4) He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Ebensburg Post 363, American Legion and Post 4963 VFW.  Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, and from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Ebensburg Methodist Church, the Rev. Ashley Weyant, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org.
