Obituary of Delores M. Sloan

SLOAN – Delores M., 86, of Johnstown, daughter of the late Rhoda and Dile Leidy, passed away peacefully on Feb. 2, 2024 at home with her son, Mark. Preceded in death by her loving husband, George. Survived by her son, Mark (Kriste) Sloan; Grandson, Mark Hayes; Great Granddaughter, Ruby Hayes; and “extra” grandchildren, Ian and Piper Robison. Brother of Larry (Joann) Leidy; nephew, Raymond Leidy; brother-in-law, Phil Mauro; nephew, Michael Mauro; and niece, Mary Mauro. Also survived by special family members, Eugene Burns and Kelly Robison. Special friends, Beverly Konchan; Mary Ann Barr; Mary Ann Lanzendorfer; Betty Sekerak; Patricia and George Burkey. Delores loved spending time with her family, especially on holidays and summer picnics where she was famous for her deviled eggs and macaroni salad. The highlight of her life was her great granddaughter Ruby, who always would make Great Grandma’s Day with her funny antics and sayings.  She will be sadly misses and forever loved by family and friends. Private services are in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo and held by close family member, the Rev. Scott Lill.
