MOTTIN- Vera B., 89 of Nanty Glo, went home to be with her Lord November 16, 2009 at The Village, Mundys Corner. Born December 14, 1919, daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl (Byers) Simmons. Preceded in death by husband, John Amos “Hap” Mottin, to whom she was happily married for 60 years; brothers, Theodore, Kenneth, E.J. and Elmer; and sisters, Odessa Yancey and Mazie Savering. Survived by children, Nancy (Jack) McGlynn, Vinco; Jack (Joanne Corti), Nanty Glo; Charlotte (Robert) Spencer, East Earl, PA; Linda (Charles) Fenchak, Vinco; Kenneth (Marlene Chernisky), Vinco; and Diane (Steve) Kubat, Mundys Corner. 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 more great grandchildren soon to be born. Also survived by brothers, Leroy Simmons, Mundys Corner and Olen Simmons, Anchorage, AK; and numerous nieces and nephews. Longtime member of Pike Grace Brethren Church, Mundys Corner. Vera loved her Lord, loved her family and devoted her life to her Lord and her children. Mom loved watching the Gaither’s DVD’s and praising the Lord. Mom was a faithful prayer warrior, I Thess. 4:17, “Pray without ceasing.” She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, and from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am Thursday at Pike Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Robert Spencer officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vera’s memory may be made to Billy Graham Ministries, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201 or Samaritans Purse P.O.
