Over the last 21 years I had the pleasure of meeting Dena's mother on a handful of occasions. At her grandchildren's birthday parties, but mostly at sporting events when Hayden and Trent were playing baseball or basketball.
She was such a devoted mother and grandmother and you knew that she would do anything for her family.
My mother used to tell me that people are the way they are largely due to upbringing. When I look at Dena (and work beside her everyday) and Denise, and see the strong work ethics, intelligence, and dedication to family, I know it was nurtured by Mrs. Componation.
What's not mentioned here is that she had a passion for obtaining Department 56 collectables. I was invited to her home for Thanksgiving dinner a number of years ago and I was astonished and jealous of her extensive collection AND the fact that if was displayed all year long in her specially purchased display cases! Right then and there I knew we were simpatico because I too collect Department 56 houses AND keep most of them displayed all year long.
Mrs. Componation will be missed, but she lives on through Dena and Denise.
